Mother Me
Derived from a deepened spiritual quest to offer mothering care to life and to herself, this body of work captures the artist’s transition into her full mothering power. With this work, Sasha pushed deeper into the boundless freedom she craved in her work creating complex painterly glaze layers that create changing compositional vantages as the viewer moves around the piece. The body of work comprises five hand built voluminous stoneware vessels emulating the mothering form -built to carry, to hold. As in much of her work, words of the artist’s poetic meditations were etched into the underlayers of glaze representing an unbinding contract of trust she continues to make with her creative spirit.
